ASCA Merit Awards


ASCA LIFETIME ACHIEVER AWARD is the highest honor the ASCA bestows upon an Alabama chiropractor. The recipient is eligible only when he/she has made specific and significant achievement in the chiropractic profession, the ASCA and/or the community and when his/her chiropractic career spans twenty or more years. Recipients should have also reached the age of 60. The recipient of this award must currently be an ASCA member in good standing and must have been for at least the past five consecutive years. Exceptions to this may be brought before the ASCA Board of Directors for approval. This award need not be given annually.


ASCA CHIROPRACTOR OF THE YEAR is given in recognition of an outstanding year of service to the profession. There are no limitations on age or years in practice for recipients of this award. The recipient of this award must currently be an ASCA member in good standing and have been for at least the past three consecutive years.


ASCA YOUNG CHIROPRACTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD is presented to a chiropractor whose leadership qualities have already begun to distinguish him/her as an achiever within this profession, the ASCA and/or the community. Awarded to doctors in practice fewer than ten years, the ASCA Young Chiropractor of the Year Award was created to recognize excellence in young doctors who, despite the burdens of starting into practice, have found time to pursue activities, which have improved the world around them. The recipient of this award must currently be an ASCA member and have been for at least the past year. This award need not be given annually.


ASCA CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANT OF THE YEAR AWARD is presented to a CA who has demonstrated significant contributions toward the advancement of the Chiropractic profession, academic and scholarly endeavors, involvement with the association (ASCA) and community activities. The recipient of this award’s doctor must currently be an ASCA member and have been for the past year. This award need not be given annually.


ASCA JANET MARIE MAXWELL CHIROPRACTIC SERVICE AWARD is presented to any CA, employee, or ASCA staff member to acknowledge service to the chiropractic profession within the state of Alabama. The recipient of this award must be a US citizen, serve in the office nominated for 20 years or more. The recipient of this award’s doctor must currently be an ASCA member. This award need not be given annually.
