I want to begin by saying that if you missed the ASCA convention in June, you simply missed out on an exciting, fantastic weekend at a wonderful venue in the Renaissance Hotel, Montgomery! We had great trade vendors, top of our profession quality speakers, a great general session luncheon and a fun outing at the Biscuits baseball game! It was a great time being able to see and spend time with friends and colleagues and meet so many new doctors, many of whom had never attended an ASCA convention. There was great energy and excitement this year at Convention and I heard so many positive comments from a number of people. Everyone agreed that being able to earn in person CEU hours was so much more beneficial than online avenues. It was truly a fantastic and rewarding weekend away while earning necessary CEU credits!
I also want to say that I understand it’s possible to obtain CEU credits from other sources. Frankly, there simply isn’t any other CEU resource working for you right here in Alabama like the ASCA. When you take and earn your credit hours via ASCA sponsored events you are truly helping support, advance and expand the chiropractic footprint in Alabama and I sincerely thank each and every doctor who attended Convention 2021. Your attendance supports the only association that protects and promotes the chiropractic profession in Alabama!
The ASCA is working on putting together another opportunity for you to earn CEU credits this fall before license renewal so be watching your email for more information!
An additional, very exciting opportunity that the ASCA is sponsoring is the credentialing and certification for doctors wanting to participate and provide care to athletes competing in the World Games 2022 in Birmingham, AL. There will be online and in person hours required for credentialing. Any doctor desiring to provide care to athletes at the various events and venues of the World Games will need to be credentialed and certified. However, any doctor can take the available online and in person courses even if they do not intend to provide care at the World Games. Any doctor can register and take the courses! For more information, or to register your attendance, click HERE.
The ASCA has been looking for new opportunities to provide members with up-to-date practice tools, so we will begin providing valuable, free of charge webinars to members beginning early this fall. Topics will include proper coding. Proper collection habits. Proper billing routines. Professional ethics for the chiropractic office. Chiropractic Assistant training. We will be forwarding scheduling dates to you very soon.
Lastly, if you haven’t noticed, the ASCA has a new website! It is easier to navigate, is more user and mobile friendly and information you want and need will be easier to obtain. We will be continually expanding content, advertising opportunities and platform capabilities such as automatic bank drafting for membership dues payments and CPAC donations. We are closing in on securing a text messaging platform giving the ASCA the ability to provide up to the minute communication and information to our members.
There are great and exciting things happening with the ASCA! If you are a member, I sincerely thank you for your support and want you to know we are always working for you! If you aren’t a member, come join us and become part of advancing, protecting and promoting chiropractic in Alabama! We always have been and always will be, BETTER TOGETHER!
Your friend and colleague,
Brad Frost, DC, CCSP
