ASCA is monitoring the coronavirus/COVID-19 situation and is giving due consideration to our members’ safety and the impact on future events. Over the upcoming months, we will be following statements from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization, local and national government statements, the U.S. State Department, our hotel partners, and other trusted agencies providing information on the virus and related risks or safety guidelines. We will also be keeping abreast of how other professional associations conduct their live, in-person events.

ASCA News Alert - Convention 2020

Dear Members,

I am certain we don’t have to tell you that 2020 has been one for the books. It has affected us all differently: professionally, financially, personally. Today is another day that will hit us in all three categories.

The ASCA has made the difficult decision to not hold the 2020 ASCA Convention & Exhibition in person but instead to host an Online Event and On-Demand CE Credits. This has not been an easy decision for your leadership. We have spent the last several months trying to figure out the best way to keep some normalcy in extraordinary circumstances. While we will miss seeing all of you, we believe this is the best way to keep everyone safe and still allow you to get all of your 2020 continuing education from the ASCA.

We all know what a financial toll COVID-19 has taken, and the ASCA has not been spared. Our main source of operating revenue has always been CE Courses. We’re asking you to help us by taking our online courses this year. We will be offering live online courses as well as on-demand CE hours to make it convenient for you. Our simple online format will be rolled out in the next couple of weeks with many course options for you to choose from. Especially now, we need your support as we continue to work for you. Please keep in mind when signing up for courses: the ASCA is the only source of online courses that will be putting the revenue back into your profession in your state.

In closing, I would like to take a moment to thank the ASBCE for their handling of this crisis. They have made thoughtful decisions in a time when it would have been easy to have been rash and reactionary. I’d also like to thank them for making sure the ASCA was kept in the loop, helping us to prepare to best serve the profession in whatever form was needed. There is no doubt after this crisis that we are all better together!

I look forward to seeing each of you at the online ASCA event forum and to the day that we can safely shake hands once again.

Yours in health,
Andrew J. Klein, D.C.
President, ASCA
